Drive INS have almost died off which is a shame because it's a great place to see a movie. Prices are very reasonable a huge screen and it's great watching a movie from your own vehicle. We are very fortunate the Northfield Drive-In is still in business.

I saw Oppenheimer here. The sound came over fm channel and was good. The first audio we heard was scratchy and hissy and we were concerned, but it turned out they played the same welcome message they played 75 years ago, once we figured that out it was charming. The sound of the movie was crisp and with the good speakers the car even shook during explosions. Concessions were okay pre-packed ice cream sandwiches, popcorn, drinks. The screen is patchwork quilt of squares, but when the movie was on that was not a problem. The theater has auto flushing bathrooms which were clean. Surprisingly, the men's room had a line but the lady's room did not (after the movie).

Who doesn't love a drive-in and this place is classic. The Northfield Drive-In shows two shows a night. First show typically starts at sundown. It has a playground and a snack bar. $11 per adult and $7 per child Under 12. They pay back in $2 bills. Pets are acceptable provided are quiet and calm.

This is a rare find today. It’s really a living museum of the good ‘ol fashioned drive-in experience goi g back to the 40’s or 50’s. They even still have those crazy cartoons promoting the SNACK BAR with dancing popcorn and candy that countdown from 5 minutes to showtime. They actually have some quality food at the snack bar and really friendly staff. This place employees 17 to 25 local people! It’s pet friendly and they always show the movie even if it rains! Only lightning storms can stop the show. They broadcast the sound through your car radio or loan out transistor radios for the full AM sound experience. I just watched the original 1975 release “Jaws” followed by a new release of Fast and Furious 9. Cheeseburgers were EXCELLENT, so was the buttered popcorn and coffee. Never a disappointment at The Northfield Drive-In.

Great night out for the fam! Arrived early, planning on dinner from the drive-in's the snack shack, and it didn't disappoint! Had wonderful chicken tenders, onion rings, and tater tots with cheese and bacon. No complaints from the grandson who had a burger and fries. Even the dog scarfed down her own hambuger for dinner!
